The Processor
|
The processor is the heart of your PC. Recent advances in processor manufacturing have given rise to a large number of processors to choose from. Some PCs offer the opportunity to have more than one processor thus, giving you more computing power in the same box. Make sure that your motherboard can run the Operating System, i.e. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, or Windows 2000, with multiple processors. Unless you are a Tech-No-Nerd or Techi, you won't really care. Just make sure you get to see your system operate before laying down your cash. The inside of a PC can be a mysterious place to the uninitiated. If you do not know how to work on a PC, keep your hands out of it.
